Performid’s “documentation team” is happy to invite you to wander on the online platform and living archive of the nomadic program of learning and practice in performance art Performing Identity, performance art facing contemporary societal challenges, now accessible at this link: https://perform-id.eu.
Performing Identity, performance art facing contemporary societal challenges came out of dialogues between Marta Bosowska, Áine Phillips, Antoine Pickels, Christophe Alix and Michela Sacchetto, the coordinators, and involved 20 students of higher level art education from 4 Art schools/universities partners: ENSAV - La Cambre and ESA Le 75 in Brussels (BE), Magdalena Abakanowicz Univeristy of the Arts Poznań (PL) and Burren College of Art in the West of Ireland (IE).
It offered a series of workshops at the partner institutions and festivals, Verão Azul - transdisciplinary Festival of Contemporary Arts in Lagos (PT), New Performance Turku Biennale in Turku (FI) and (Pas si) Fragile ! in Brussels (BE), including performance practice, professional and theoretical encounters and the creation of performances in varied public frameworks.
Perform-id.eu deploys and performs the many documents and stories collected over 5 working sessions, which took place over two years 22/23 and 23/24 in Brussels, Lagos (Portugal), Ballyvaughan (Ireland), Turku (Finland) and Poznan (Poland).
It is the result of an intensive collaboration between Luna Descamps, Fanny Schaepelynck, Léah Crabé and Louise Valin, then students at ESA Le 75, Michela Sacchetto, lecturer and coordinator, Christophe Alix, then director of ESA Le 75, and Luuse graphic design collective.
The online plateforme will continue to be updated during the next months. It is then still a work in process. Nevertheless, we are delighted to share it now with you, who joined and helped us on this learning adventure.
